Hello to all! This week we will be onsite working on Courtney's future home!
Where: 199 East Housatonic Street Dalton, MA, 01226
What: Installing siding and interior walls.
When: Friday 8am - 12pm, Saturday 8am-3pm
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Aliza Mendelowitz ([email protected]) to notify her of your desired build day. This will help us to accurately plan for the expected number of tasks and leaders necessary for the day. We greatly appreciate your flexibility as the days shift and change. Thank you!
Group Builds!
Currently, we have openings for groups of 5-15 volunteers to join us on the jobsite from mid August through December.
- 8am to 3pm on Fridays and Saturdays (or half days if requested).
- Provide lunch for group and the 7-10 Core Volunteers and Habitat staff who will be supporting their team.
Volunteer groups take part in all aspects of home building, from framing walls to installing insulation to roofing or landscaping. We are open to all skill levels!
To schedule your group’s day on site, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Aliza Mendelowitz ([email protected]).
What Happened Last Week
After two rainy work days, all but one window have been completely installed! Leading by example, volunteers enthusiastically have begun siding on the West side. The house should soon be a beautiful grey!

Get to Know your Core Leaders!
Kati Rosen has interned as a volunteer for Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity all summer. She is studying Japanese Studies and Linguistics as well as Residential Construction and Construction Management at SUNY Delhi in New York. Kati has been an integral resource throughout many build days and events, including 2018 Women Build and our Panel Builds. Thank you, Kati for all your hard work and dedication! Good luck at school and hopefully we will see you managing your own construction team soon!
"Working with Habitat for Humanity has been both a teaching experience and learning experience. I loved seeing the volunteers give it their all and being so enthusiastic to learn new skills. I think my favorite part of working with Habitat this summer was Women's Build Week. I loved seeing all of the ladies excited to try something new. It was quite the inspiring experience since I'm used to being one of the only females in my class at SUNY Delhi. I will miss these experiences with the wonderful women who participated in Women Build, Mike Bedard, Aliza Mendelowitz, Brian Kozaczek, Dez Chivers, Dawn Schober, John Green, and Josh Clemo while I'm back in Delhi, becoming a better carpenter."
