Serving as an Americorps with Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity is the rare opportunity to improve your skills and help others. I was constantly encouraged to learn new things. For example, I took online safety trainings, read Bridges out of Poverty, and read about Results Oriented Management. I was also able to greatly improve my excel and google sheets skills which I used to find duplicate contacts in Salesforce using nicknames and recently a volunteer sign in sheet that calculates hours worked and if the volunteer has signed a waiver. Right now I am learning Apex to integrate our volunteer database with our website.
